Last November, hundreds of workers from Compostela Valley under Sumifru Philippines Corporation, a Japanese fresh-fruits exporting company, traveled to Manila to bring their protests to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). Currently, their camps reside at CHR, Diliman, Quezon City. Their plight is to amplify their campaign against contractualization, union busting, violent dispersal of their strike, and the killings of two of their labor leaders and trade unionists recently.
Rotaract Club of UP Manila presents, "Bigay Bigas," a project that aims to help in giving sustenance to the workers of Sumifru Philippines Corporation.
Your help will boost the hope of our labor rights advocates and will also serve as a way for us to accomplish our goals to reach and help rural communities and the oppressed.
